Lion killed vetenary technologist in Obafemi Awolowo University.

  9-year-old male lion on Monday killed a zookeeper while feeding the wild cats in their den at the Zoological garden of the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife. The victim, identified as Mr Olabode Olawuyi, who was a Veterinary Technologist, was said to have has been in charge of the Zoological garden for over a decade. The Public Relations Officer of the university, Abiodun Olarewaju, confirmed the incident in a statement on Monday. He said, “Mr Olawuyi has been taking care of the lions since they were born on campus about 9 years ago but, tragically, the male lion killed the man who had been feeding them. “The other members of staff who were at the scene of the incident did everything within their power to rescue their boss but the wild cat had already caused severe fatalities.” Olarewaju said upon hearing the sad news, the management team, led by the Vice Chancellor, Prof Adebayo Bamire, abruptly ended an ongoing meeting for an on-the-spot assessment “Vice-Chancellor, Professor...

NYSC member slumps, dies while watching Nigeria, South Africa match

A member of the National Youths Service Corps, NYSC, slumped and died during the penalty shootout stage of the match between Nigeria and South Africa, Wednesday evening. It was gathered that the youth, identified simply as Samuel from Kaduna State, who was serving in Adamawa, died just before the last kick that ensured Nigeria’s progress to the final of the African Cup of Nations. A witness said in a social media post, “We lost one Nigerian during our victory celebration over South Africa today at our sports viewing center here in Numan. “The corps member who is serving in Numan from Kaduna fainted before the kick of the winning goal. He died before they could reach the hospital. May his soul rest in peace.” The NYSC Coordinator in Adamawa State, Mr. Jingi Dennis, confirmed the matter in a telephone conversation Thursday morning.  Fire gots particular area at ore, Ondo state. Date : February 4, 2024 Reporter: Awosiji Toluwalase Israel. Time : 8:40am It's so horrific as fire gots some particular area of Madam sawmill, at ore in Ondo state. The fire was said to occur as a spark of electricity wire which later result to the tremendous burning of shops with many belongings. The shops owners were very sad about the incident because nothing was recovered from their shop due to the incident which was so lurid. A shop owner who is a cobbler "Mr Ojo said the incident happened around midnight and which was first noticed by a passerby who raised the alarm so people could get notified. " This shouldn't have happened, in this bad economy of the nation at present" someone said. Complains proliferates as no fire service was found at the burning event. Citizens living in Ore, Ondo state are pleading to the state government to please provide fire service and make them function in the area of the state.
